My name is Drew Smith and, in August 2023, I retired as Professor at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, California where, for 10 years, I was the Director of the Motion Analysis Research Center.
I have a LinkedIn page that describes my professional career to date; click here to view that.
I have been an academic since completing my PhD at the University of Waterloo and my career has taken me and my family all over the world, including Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong (twice!), England, Canada, and the USA. As a result, I am a citizen of both Canada, my birthplace, and Australia (my first academic posting).

Hi, Dr. Smith. I am one of your student (2009) when you were in Hong Kong University of Education, former Hong Kong Institute of Education. My name is FUNG Hing Lun, I am now retired also, same as you. I would like to send you a book which is written by me, Stories of the Golf City–A road to dig your golden swing by Derbykoo. You can find this book in free if you have Kindle. Do you remember the question–where is the second turning axis of golf swing? I am still go to the golf course almost every week, do you? Cheers.
